Since its launch, Xbox Cloud Gaming has only supported 720p game streaming. This was to save bandwidth and server resources. A 720p stream was not a massive deal for Xbox Cloud Gaming, as it mainly only worked on the small screens of Android phones and tablets.

My Xbox (series S) controller only seems to work with XCloud on M1 Air when connected via bluetooth. Both the controller and Macbook have USB-C, so it's a bit strange that wired connections don't work. It was a pain to get the controller paired too. It took very many attempts before it worked. Install the IOS version of the Xbox app on any M1 Macbook. (This tutorial does not work with intel macs because they do not support ios app emulation.)Imazin. Download the 360Controllers app from Github. Take note of which release is compatible with your version of macOS. Install the package and Restart the Mac. Connect Xbox controller. According to Windows Central, 'reports have suggested that Microsoft is planning to upgrade the Xbox cloud streaming servers from Xbox One architecture to Xbox Series X architecture over the course of this year, and we may have started to see some of the fruits of that labor.'

In a screen capture from these trusted sources, we can see that the game is running at 1080p resolution, which is up from the standard 720p resolution. The update to the server hardware will also increase gaming performance and loading speeds. Improved performance and an increased resolution will make the games look and run even better on your mobile devices and any future devices that Xbox Cloud Gaming may support.

A 1080p stream from Microsoft's cloud gaming service will bring it in line with competing services like Google Stadia, GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna, which have supported 1080p streaming since launch.

Since this is currently in the internal testing and development phase, there is no set date for when Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to utilize the new architecture for their gaming streams. So as of currently, you will still have to deal with 720p game streams.

After more than two months of beta testing, Microsoft is readying the launch of its xCloud Game streaming platform on Safari, Edge, and Chrome in the “next few weeks.” This comes after Microsoft had been pushing to bring xCloud to the App Store.

Will Xcloud Work On Mac

The company made the announcement today in a blog post about “bringing the joy and community of gaming to everyone.” Here’s what Microsoft said:

In the next few weeks, cloud gaming on the browser will open to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. With Edge, Chrome, and Safari support, players will be a click away from gaming on almost any device.

Microsoft wanted to offer the xCloud Game platform as an app on the App Store, but since Apple policies don’t allow app stores inside the App Store, the Redmond had to scrap its plans last year.

In April, Microsoft announced it was going to open the beta test program of xCloud Game on web browsers. To enjoy the platform, users must be an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber.

The public beta offered access to over 100 Xbox Game Pass titles. The official Game Pass has around 300 titles that are expected to work with xCloud Game without the need of a TV or a monitor, just a web browser on your iPhone and iPad, for example.

In the blog post, Microsoft also noted that “Cloud gaming through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will launch in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan later this year” as well.
